Welcome to the Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering (PNGE) website. I hope that it is your goal in life to succeed in a career that is never ending, always changing, and extremely fascinating. If that is what you are looking for, then West Virginia University’s PNGE is the place to be.
Because WVU is centrally located near major oil and gas fields, all students are afforded a golden opportunity to interact with members of our industry. Through site visits, seminars, summer jobs and socialization students can get to know these industry personnel on a personal and professional level. Moreover, our faculty is strongly committed at providing these valuable experiences, rather than keeping the students in the classroom; and they have a strong supportive role in meetings, activities and student organizations, like the WVU Student Chapter of Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
